The most recent Pearson Lost in Translation report has revealed some alarming statistics for the digital workforce in the age of AI adaptation, with research suggesting that by 2030, around 65% of the skills needed for existing jobs will have changed with 26% of jobs being at high risk if people do not upskill and embrace AI.
As automation continues to advance, there’s an increasing demand for professionals who can strategically guide AI implementation, ensuring it’s used effectively, ethically, and in alignment with business goals. Individuals with the ability to manage workflows, interpret results, and optimise AI outcomes will play a vital role in shaping the future of work.
Without urgent action to develop the skills needed for the future, Australia risks significant economic repercussions. Current estimates suggest that the annual losses associated with workforce transition challenges could reach around AUD$104 billion, the equivalent of 3.8% of the nation’s GDP in 2024.
